Workshops

Lasting around one hour, workshops will give pupils an opportunity to delve deeper into the key concepts of growth mindset principles through fun and interactive activities in four main sections:

Introducing the growth mindset and recognising the growth/fixed mindset spectrum

The workshop begins by gathering what pupils already know about the growth mindset. We will then delve into recognising the language surrounding fixed and growth mindset thinking through an interactive story, role play and a sorting activity.

Create a news report based on what has been learnt in each workshop

Working in groups, this activity will be a fun way for children to reflect on what they have learnt and share it as a way of teaching others.

Neuroplasticity: How your amazing brain learns

This section introduces some of the concepts of neuroplasticity and how our brains adapt to learning any new skill or material. It will also bring in motivation on how to practise something that needs to be learnt.

Developing resilience through challenges and mistakes

In the third workshop, students will focus on the importance of making mistakes and taking on challenges as a means of learning and developing a skill. We will examine types of mistakes and how these can be celebrated as part of the learning process.
